Updates, Updates, Updates!

Hello again!

After a long hiatus, I’m excited to announce that we are back in business! SO much has happened since the last time I’ve made a blog post that I wanted to start off with quickly updating everyone on where I’ve been and then get to how things will look going forward.

First and foremost, my beloved horse, Moose, is officially fully retired. Believe it or not, it wasn’t the Cushing’s disease that made me come to this decision, but a stifle fracture and arthritis that showed in an x-ray done after he came out of his stall extremely stiff one morning. That morning happened to be Christmas Day 2020. Since then, I moved him to a wonderful retirement farm where he gets to hang out with his other old horse friends and gets to be outside as much as his heart desires. Mind you, he’s farther away from me now but I try to see him as much as possible, given the other updates.

Second, I started getting busier at work, and not the fun job! I was promoted at my corporate job and decided to focus on that in order to better financially prepare for the future, like saving to buy a farm, and preparing for update number three!

Lastly, I had a baby!! That is still recent news as she was just born in September, but pregnancy prevented me from being able to continue training for safety reasons. As a first time mom, it was so rewarding to bring her out to meet mom’s best friend of twelve and a half years. We’ve now visited Moose together a number of times which is no easy feat but is well worth every second I get to spend with both my horse and my daughter.

With all of this having happened, I found the idea of returning to content creation rather daunting. How could I create equine content when I can’t ride my horse anymore? How could I possibly balance caring for my daughter, creating content, and working?

There are no easy answers! Even though I can’t ride Moose anymore, he is still a huge part of my life and I still have all of the knowledge I had when he was rideable. I had to remind myself of that when I asked myself the first question. Just because I can’t give lessons on him anymore doesn’t mean that I can’t take on training clients anymore, either!

As for the second question, I want my little girl to grow up feeling like she can do anything if she works hard enough. Maintaining balance isn’t going to be easy but returning to my passion will make it all worth it.

Going forward, I’m hoping (keyword: hoping!!) to be able to post at least once a week, sometimes it may be more or less given what’s going on with my daughter and with work. Once I return to having training clients I’ll also start posting videos but that may take more time given my busy schedule.

I am so excited to be starting this journey again!
